Hagemann Ranch Trout Farm
Pack 118's Gone Fishin'

1pm-4pm, Sunday Sept 12
Hagemann Ranch, Highway 1, Bodega Bay map
We're going to the Hagemann Ranch Trout Farm for our annual fishing trip. We're going to learn how to put a worm on a hook, cast the line and catch a fish!!. Wear sturdy shoes and your Pack 118 t-shirt. The whole family is welcome. Please e-mail me with your name, number of cubs, number of siblings and number of adults.
Pole hire is $4.50; $2 if you bring your own pole. Pack 118 will pay for the hire of the rods and worms for each Cub Scout. Families pay for and take home as many fish as they catch (price is dependent upon length, see trout farm website here for the price list). There is no "catch and release".
From Vallejo it takes about 80 minutes. The entrance to the Ranch is signposted and will be on your right after Estero Lane and before Bay Hill Road.

Coastal Cleanup Day

The Cub Scouts of Silvergate District have been invited to participate in the California Coastal Cleanup Day by picking up trash in Hanns Park. Hanns Park is a particularly appropriate location for us as it is where the Cub Scout Day Camp is held each year. Wear sturdy shoes, gloves and your Pack 118 t-shirt or uniform.

September Pack and Parents Meeting

We start a new Cub Scout year with a lot of new recruits. The boys will learn the value of friendship, cooperation, and respect through games, stories, songs and activities. While they are busy having fun, the parents will be hearing what we have planned for the year and opportunites to volunteer to help Pack 118 GO!!! Wear your full uniform.

Cub Scout Family Camp
Camp Lindblad, Santa Cruz Mountains

Camping and the outdoors is a big part of Scouting. For our next camping trip, Pack 118 will be going to the Cub Scout Family Camp at Camp Lindblad in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Cub Scout Family camping is a Mt Diablo-Silverado Council organized, overnight camping program. It operates over two nights and is conducted under certified leadership at a camp approved by the council.

There are activities for all the family all weekend- Archery, Crafts, Nature Walks, BB Guns, Campfires, First Aid, Scout Skills, Woodcraft, Whittling!! All the cooking is done for you!! All you need to bring is a tent. Click here and here for photos from previous camps.

The whole family is invited to attend Cub Scout Family Camping. Anyone in the family may attend as long as there is one registered Cub Scout in the family. Cub scouts, siblings over 5 and adults are $90 each. Siblings under the age of 5 are only $15. All Cubs and siblings must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Cub Scouts speak up for VALCORE
Well done Matthew and Steven

November 2009 Cub Scouts from Pack 118 wrote letters of support, attended a city council meeting and addressed the Mayor and City Council Members of Vallejo all in support of VALCORE. It must have worked - VALCORE will continue to be funded by the City.

Dragon Patrol Earns Top Honors

May 2009 The Dragon Patrol had a FUN time at the Silver Gate District Camporee at Lake Berryessa. Camping for the first time with the Boy Scouts, they earned both the Top Pack Award and the overall Scout Spirit Award. Well Done!!

Pack 118 Earns Quality Unit Award

January 2009 Pack 118 earned the Quality Unit Award for 2008, the third year in a row. Pack 118 is entering its 56th year of Cub Scouting chartered by American Legion Post 550 in Vallejo, California. We have an active program of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities. We serve all boys in Grades 1 to 5 who live in Vallejo.
